On the morning of August 19, the construction of my country's first high-speed railway that directly connects to the Sino-Vietnamese border port, the Fangdong Railway, ushered in an important node, and the Shiwushan Tunnel was successfully completed. So far, the overall construction progress of this railway has exceeded 75%.
The Shiwushan Tunnel is located in Fangchenggang City and is the seventh tunnel through the Fangdong Railway. The tunnel is a two-lane tunnel with a total length of 1195 meters. The Fangdong Railway extends from Fangchenggang City, a coastal city in the Beibu Gulf, to Dongxing City on the Sino-Vietnamese border. The total length of the line is 46.9 kilometers, the design speed is 200 kilometers/hour, and the infrastructure is reserved for 250 kilometers/hour.

At present, 8 tunnels across the entire railway line have successfully completed 7 tunnels, and the last Tongguling tunnel is expected to be completed in October this year. The excavation progress of the tunnel project reached 8,590 meters, completing 95.1% of the design total, the section roadbed earthwork was basically completed, and the bridge lower part project was 97.7% completed.
Dongxing City is the only port city connecting my country and ASEAN by land and sea. After the completion and operation of the Fangdong Railway, Fangchenggang to Dongxing will end the history of no railway traffic. The transportation time between the two places will be shortened from 90 minutes by road to 20 minutes by railway. This will play a significant role in the implementation of the national "Belt and Road" initiative and promote China-Vietnam economic and trade exchanges. positive effects.
